Loveable android Vision may just be the key to understanding what is going on inside the eerie town of Westview. Played fantastically by Paul Bettany, the character of Vision has become one of the most kind-hearted Avengers since his creation in Avengers: Age of Ultron. We heard Tony Start say that Vision was evolving and that is definitely the case even after his death. Episode 4 of WandaVision revealed to us that the Vision we have been seeing is still the Vision that died at the hands of Thanos. We have just been seeing him in the projection Wanda has placed on him. Even in death Vision is still showing the character traits that we all know and love. He’s kind, loving and incredibly smart. Smart enough to solve what is happening in Westview.

Throughout the MCU, Vision has been evolving. In Avengers: Age of Ultron he was still learning about himself; years later during Avengers: Infinity War Vision wanted to run away with Wanda and start a life where he could feel human. Clearly, the life Vision wanted before his death was a quiet and easy life away from conflict, yet he was still willing to do what he saw to be the right thing. In WandaVision Vision and Wanda get that quiet life they talked about in Edinburgh, but throughout the episodes we know something isn’t right in Westview and Vision particularly gets suspicious.

4 episodes into WandaVision and the mystery surrounding Westview still remains. We as fans have been asking questions since the show premiered, but Vision began to ask questions in episode 3. The first time we see Vision get suspicious he goes to talk to Wanda, but the scene cuts back and he forgets. It’s clear that Vision is starting to notice something is wrong, what exactly he doesn’t know yet.

However, as the episodes continues encounters with Herb and Dr. Neilson keep raising suspicion to Vision. What we know from Vision as a character is that he will always do what he thinks is right. Also, during episode 4 Vision asks Wanda if she wants to move out of Westview. Again, this tells us Vision knows something is wrong, although right now Vision doesn’t know what is behind his suspicions.

Many fans will have received nightmares from the sight of dead Vision walking around during episode 4. This reveal means Vision is still dead, but is being controlled by the mind of Wanda. That leaves the question of why is he asking questions if he is getting controlled by Wanda? We know Vision is an intelligent being but how exactly is he having thoughts of his own if he is dead? Even though these questions remain for us, Vision will still want to find answers for what he is experiencing in Westview because he doesn’t know he is dead.

As Vision begins to increase his investigation we can expect him to find answers and unlock some truths behind Westview. The mid-season trailer for WandaVision brings the theory of Vision being the key to life. During the trailer we see Vision questioning what is going on in Westview and we also hear a change in his tone as he asks aggressively to an unknown person what is outside of Westview. The trailer doesn’t tell us who the person is; but the trailer does then show Vision reaching the barrier of Westview and breaking through. This indicates that Vision’s investigation will lead to him leaving Westview.

With Vision outside Westview, we expect him to be the key to understanding what is going on. Vision will no doubt encounter S.W.O.R.D. on the outside and the mix of information between the two groups will help Vision understand what is going on. Vision could also learn that he is dead. Either way, the actions Vision takes will be to try and solve the problem because he always will do what he thinks is right. Solving the problem of Westview would be the right thing to do. Nobody from S.W.O.R.D. has been able to perfectly solve the problem, which leads to the possibility that it could be Vision who breaks down the Westview anomaly.

Nobody else seems to have the capability to break what’s going on other than Vision. For those who potentially do have the ability, like Wanda and Agnes, wouldn’t want to end the reality. Wada in particularly would want to keep living her fantasy with Vision. This leaves the only option left of Vision being the one who can end the reality that is inside Westview and unlock all the answers we have been craving.

With Vision being the only logically being that could end the events in Westview, it stands to reason that Vision will be the key in what happens next in the series. We know Vision is smart enough to solve the problem because of his experience inside the town and he also has the morals to follow through with it. There are still questions about Vision, but if S.W.O.R.D. are to gain access to Westview then the help of Vision will be what helps them and result in the finale of the series.
