“Previously On” included a huge mid credit scene which is sure to impact WandaVision’s season finale. After the reveal that Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) did not steal the corpse of the Vision (Paul Bettany) for S.W.O.R.D, we discovered shady Director Haywood (Josh Stamberg) had the corpse all along and has finally managed to bring it back online.

What this means is that there is currently two Vision’s operating. Wanda’s creation of Vision is currently on route back to Wanda inside Westview, while Haywood’s white Vision is preparing with S.W.O.R.D. to enter into Westview. The question now is what the difference between the two is and what will happen when the two encounter each other.

Hex Vision:

After the last episode of WandaVision we learnt a lot about the Vision we are seeing inside Westview. Reliving Wanda’s trauma showed us that Haywood had lied about Wanda stealing Vision in order to paint her as the villain. Instead we got to see Wanda break down and explode with all her chaos magic, which resulted in the creation of the hex and Vision. This means that Vision wasn’t the corpse we had assumed he was.

Now that we know the true state of Vision within the hex a lot of questions can be answered. We now know why Vision has no memory of his life before Westview because this version of him didn’t exist. Also, his personality has all come from Wanda’s memory which explains why Vision isn’t the fighting android we have seen in the past, instead he is more caring, something which Wanda would have experienced with him during their time working for the Avengers.

ree

Moreover, the fact that Vision inside the hex is of Wanda’s memory suggests that he will lack violence and will be a weaker fighter than the Vision before Avengers: Infinity War. Wanda created Vision with the purpose of being a suburban husband like Dick Van Dyke whom she idolised. So we can expect when the fight finally occurs that Vision will be more reluctant because Wanda never intended for conflict.

An explanation can also be provided for why Vision was on the verge of death as he tried to leave the hex. Being a creation of Wanda and her chaos magic powers, he can only exist while he is affected by his wife’s powers, thus leaving the hex where her powers didn’t reach Vision began to break down and die. For Wanda’s creation of Vision to continue to exist he will need a continued exposure to the power within the hex. Without this he will seize to exist, unlike White Vision whom now has a constant power source.

White Vision:

With the mid credit scene showing the ‘real’ Vision come back online, speculation has begun on what the differences will be between the new White Vision and the one which died in Avengers: Infinity War. One thing we can use to speculate is the comic book arc ‘Vision Quest’ and especially West Coast Avengers #45.

From this comic, Vision was brought back online in a white form, but was missing his feelings; instead he was an apathetic robot. In the comics this was because Wonder Man refused to use his consciousness which was used in the original creation of Vision. Obviously this won’t be how WandaVision explains it. Instead what has been removed is the Mind Stone and it has been replaced with energy coming from the drone which was sent into Westview.

ree

It hasn’t been fully explained what is happening with ‘white Vision’ but because of his nature in the credit scene it’s likely that losing the mind stone ripped away at his memory and his feelings. This means that the he will be the sentient weapon that Haywood has been dreaming of.

Under orders from Haywood while having no memories of his past, Vision will solely be a weapon. It is also likely that he won’t even speak rather just have a face of nothingness which will no doubt cause further upset for Wanda when she sees her former lovers new state.

There have been some theories circulating that have to be acknowledged about the true form Vision will take being that is of Ultron. When Vision was originally created his base code was that of Ultron. Therefore people have suggested that due to the removal of the mind stone and the use of a different power source that Ultron will resurface as Vision. However, I don’t see this happening, mainly because there is no link between Ultron and WandaVision. Maybe in the future Ultron could take over Vision’s body, but for me I have to be honest and say that white Vision is just a robot taking orders from Haywood.

What happens when the Vision’s collide?

ree

I think everyone is excited to see a fight between the two Vision’s and we can expect some incredible scenes. As much as everyone will be cheering on the hex Vision, the white Vision will be stronger. This is simply because of his lack of feeling. Whenever you take emotions out of a fight you perform better, so when two identical beings fight, the one with the least amount of emotion involved should win. I have a theory that white Vision may kill the hex Vision in front of Wanda which will be just as horrifying as the death in Infinity War.

Furthermore, white Vision will not have any protective feelings. He will have no concern over who gets hurt, whereas hex Vision will want to protect his family, especially as Wanda will have created him with protectiveness as a main feature of his personality.

No matter what happens it will be exciting to see the White Vision in action and see what differences he has to the Vision we have been watching throughout WandaVision. Let’s hope that Wanda doesn’t lose her mind any more than she already has, I don’t think she or any of us fans could handle another Wanda breakdown.
