Every Marvel fan across the globe has been on edge waiting for the finale of WandaVision and we are now on the final stretch. With everything that has happened in Marvel Studios first Disney+ live action show there are still many more theories circulating the fan base. Some are wild, while some use the source material of the comics to link their theories to the show. We have got a mix of both and we will just be happy if one of them comes true, so here is our 10 theories for WandaVision’s epic finale.

There will be a secret episode:

ree

We start off this list with an odd suggestion. There is currently meant to be 9 episodes in the WandaVision series which means there is only 1 episode left to wrap. However, when announcing shows for Disney+, it was said that each series would roughly come in at 6 hours.

This doesn’t mean that the final run time has to be 6 hours exactly, but it does allow us to speculate that Marvel may be hiding something and that may be a secret tenth episode. Currently the WandaVision run time including all the credits is 4 hours and 52 minutes. This means that there is roughly and hour left to hit that 6 hour mark.

Each episode of WandaVision has been roughly 30 minutes long with the latest increasing to 40. Therefore, if the next episode keeps to the series average episode time we will be short of 6 hours. As such Marvel could be hiding a bonus episode which can take the show to the 6 hour mark. Doing this would also allow for much more action and special effects, which has been said to be on par with Avengers: Endgame.

Director Haywood works for A.I.M:

ree

Advanced Idea Mechanics were first introduced in Iron Man 3 and have had a limited role in the MCU since then. In the comics A.I.M. is a company that crops up across the universe focusing on scientific creations and weapon deals. This is something that the MCU could be set to introduce.

I predicted earlier in the series that Haywood (Josh Stamberg) was working for A.I.M. and I still believe this. My reasoning for this is due to how he has acted as director of S.W.O.R.D. Firstly he changed the focus from space exploration to weaponry, which is something A.I.M. is specialises in. Being the head of A.I.M. it would make perfect sense for Haywood to begin making weapons, especially trying to bring Vision (Paul Bettany) back online which he said himself went against the Vision’s wishes, is the type of criminal work that A.I.M. is accustomed with.

Also, it has been noticed that many S.W.O.R.D. agents have been wearing hazmat suits. Yes, this is to protect from the energy of the hex, but it also could be a sign of A.I.M. as the scientists that work for the criminal organisation wear hazmat suits. The seeds could already be planted for the groups return and the villainous Haywood could be overseeing their return to power as he infiltrates S.W.O.R.D.

Pietro is not from the X-Men Universe:

ree

It was all but confirmed in the “Previously On” episode that the Pietro (Evan Peters) that we are seeing is not the same as the one played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson in Avengers: Age of Ultron. This has led to the speculation that the Pietro we are seeing is the same that appeared in the Fox X-Men franchise.

I’m afraid I have to be a kill joy here and say that I think Pietro isn’t from the X-Men universe and instead is just a ‘random’ person used by Marvel to tease fans. This is because Agatha (Kathryn Hahn) stated that ‘Fietro’ was her eyes and ears, thus he was under the control of Agatha not Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) as fans previously assumed.

Being under Agatha’s control means that Pietro likely doesn’t come from a different universe because Agatha has shown no signs of being able to pluck people from the multiverse. We know Wanda’s powers include her as a Nexus being which the final commercial hinted at and is likely going to be explored in more detail. But, it’s Agatha that has been controlling Pietro not Wanda, which means he cannot have been brought from a different universe using the nexus powers because Agatha doesn’t have the ability, instead Pietro is just an everyday citizen. Though, I would like to go on record and say for this theory I am happy to be wrong!

Agatha serves Chthon:

ree

It has become an on running joke throughout the series that an extradimensional threat will appear in the series finale. Many believe this to be Mephisto due to his links with the twins, Billy and Tommy in the comics. However, I have moved to a different side and although I recognise Mephisto as a potential villain, I believe that the threat everyone believes will play a role in the finale will be Chthon.

My reasoning for Chthon rather than Mephisto is simply because I actually do not think the threat will make a physical appearance; they will simply be an entity which Agatha serves. As such I think Mephisto is too big of a villain in Marvel comics just be referenced, whereas Chthon plays this role in the comics all the time.

Moreover, the book in Agatha basement has been speculated to be the Darkhold, which if it is suggests that it will be Chthon whom Agatha serves. Chthon wrote the Darkhold and the book has the power to manifest him back into the modern day. Therefore, Agatha’s plan could be to bring back Chthon in the modern day using Wanda, which explains why she needed to understand the true nature of Wanda. If we look at the comics this was what happened when Modred tried to bring back Chthon in Avengers #185-187. As such a slight change could position Agatha as the one trying to bring back the demon known as Chthon.

Tommy will have a classic Quicksilver scene:

ree

Some of the best scenes in all comic book movies is the famous Quicksilver slow motion saves in X: Men: Days of Future Past and X: Men: Apocalypse. Introducing Evan Peters into WandaVision to play a ‘recast’ Pietro in the MCU leans to the possibility of a famous slow motion scene.

I have to admit that I heard this theory somewhere else, so it is not my own theory. That being said I still think it would be awesome if the MCU flips this and gives the famous scene to the nephew of Quicksilver Tommy Maximoff, whom has the same powers as his uncle. During the final battle it would be awesome to see the future Young Avengers save his family while a classic song plays in the background.

Alternatively, if we assume Pietro is on Agatha’s side during the final battle, a fight between the two speedsters in a similar format to the classic scene could also work and provide fans a happy bit of nostalgia to what, let’s face it has been quite a depressing series to watch.

White Vision will kill the Hex Vision:

ree

Introduced in the latest post-credit scene Haywood finally has his sentient weapon. He managed to use energy from the drone sent into Westview to bring the Vibranium android back online. However akin to the Vision Quest comic storyline, it looks like he will be brought back without his feelings. Compare this to the Vision that Wanda created in the Hex and he is filled with feelings and love for his family.

There is no doubt that there will be a battle between the two Vision’s and that leaves the question of who will come out victorious. Due to White Vision not having any emotions and being focused on his mission, I believe that he will be victorious over the Vision we have come to love during the series. To make this even more shocking I think that White Vision will in fact kill the Hex Vision.

With the death of Hex Vision this will be the third time that he has been killed in the MCU. I would even suggest that Wanda sees this, which could cause a burst of chaos magic nobody is ready for.

Wanda will break down and cause the Multiverse to crumble:

ree

Following on from my last theory, I believe that something will cause Wanda to break down, likely the death of Vision. We have seen Wanda collapse and burst chaos magic out twice before in the MCU, the first when Pietro died and the second time when she created the hex in Westview. Vision dying again could be the third time this happens.

We know that whatever happens in the finale is set to lead into Dr Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. For that reason I think Wanda will break down and unleash her chaos magic along with her nexus powers to cause chaos across the multiverse and ultimately cause it to crumble.

The results of Wanda’s breakdown will then cause the events of the Dr Strange sequel, which Elizabeth Olsen will appear in. This could be how Wanda redeems herself and finally accepts her grief and comes to piece with all her loss.

Dr. Strange will cameo:

ree

Elizabeth Olsen teased at the start of the series that there will be a cameo on the level of Luke Skywalker in The Mandalorian. If we break that down, we assume that the cameo would be a pre-existing character and someone of high importance. Thus, I and many more think that the cameo that has been teased will be Dr. Strange.

All signs point to an appearance from the sorcerer supreme, due to the mystic elements of the series and that Dr Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will feature Wanda. As such, we expect something serious to go down in the finale which causes the master of the mystic arts to come to the rescue.

Moreover, Agatha has a book in her basement which we believe to be the Darkhold. The book could also be the one missing in the Ancient One’s private collection. This would definitely perk the interests of the Doctor. Other Easter Eggs in the series also hinted at his arrival. The nexus commercial in the 7th episode interestingly says that “you should not take nexus unless your doctor has cleared you to move on with your life.” This could hint at Dr. Strange’s arrival in the finale when Wanda finally shows her nexus powers.

Monica’s aerospace engineer will be a Skrull:

ree

Many fans were disappointed with the aerospace engineer which Monica (Teyonah Paris) had hyped up in earlier episode, turned out to be a friend in the Air Force, not the Reed Richards as people had hoped for. However, there still could be a reveal there that is being hidden, just like the Skrull’s are known for.

As such I think that the aerospace engineer is a Skrull. The hype that was built up for this character could have just been a red heading, but it’s typical of Marvel to come back to something after we expected it had been forgotten. Moreover we know Monica has a connection with the Skrull’s as seen in Captain Marvel, so there is a possibility that her ‘man on the ground‘ is one of the Skrull’s Monica has met, possibly Talos’ daughter in disguise.

Monica also will feature in the Captain Marvel sequel, so it is likely that something in the WandaVision finale will lead into that movie. The reveal of a Skrull in the Air force would be huge and really solidify the Skrull’s as a major player in phase 4.

Spider-Man will visit Dr. Strange in the post-credit scene:

ree

This is easily my wildest theory for the WandaVision finale, but could happen. Rumours about the newly named Spider-Man: No Way Home have circulated and one that seems to be likely is that whatever happens at the end of WandaVision will lead into the web swingers third movie.

We also know that Dr. Strange is set to feature in No Way Home which could be set up during the credits for WandaVision. Set photos that have been released seem to suggest that Spidey and his friends will visit Dr. Strange’s sanctum after Peter Parker’s identity is revealed. This was revealed months after WandaVision which means whatever is caused in the finale will already be taking shape when Spidey needs help.

For that reason, a credit scene where Spider-Man is looking for Dr. Strange’s help could result in Strange telling Spider-Man something much worse is happening. What an epic credit scene to leave fans speechless this would be and everyone would be ready for Spider-Man: No Way Home.
